This is an excellent description of everything happening right now. I live in a city where I’m watching the small business sector go out the window because of the cost of rent. It’s being replaced by corporate interests, meanwhile cutting out options for entry level jobs. My husband and I live in one of the cheapest houses left in the town, and it wouldn’t be ideal to move away because there’s still job opportunities here. Whether or not they pay enough is a different story, but it’s ridiculous how expensive it’s gotten just to live, even on a two person salary.
